The Dusty Sandals
Dedicated to
My Mother
Mary Gladys Miller
Who truly has been faithful in the Army of the Lord, being obedient to her Lot in Christ, wearing the Sandals of self-denial and giving all for others, a true soldier of the Cross.

Dusty Sandals
The shadows have fallen, theres darkness & gloom
Calvarys deserted, the mans in his tomb.
The city is resting after what has been done,
They crucified Jesus, the Carpenters Son.
Now it has all ended, the rulers sufficed,
Theyre free of the man who called himself Christ.
But up on Golgotha where the cross stood that day
Lies two dusty sandals someone threw away.
Just a pair of warn sandals the soldier had dropped
Seamless robe he had wanted, but the shoes were his lot
In anger he dropped them at the foot of the cross
Not knowing their story, not knowing his loss.
Theyre just dusty sandals, oh that they could speak
Theyd tell you of Jesus so lovely and meek
How he went about teaching & the miles they had trod,
On the foot of the Savior, the true Son of God
Theyd shout to the city, theyd cry to the sky
He was truly the Savior whom you crucified
If shoes were like mortals, these words theyd have said,
In three days this Jesus will rise from the dead.
Theyd tell of his suffering on the night when he prayed
There on old Mt. Olive where he was betrayed
They walked him up Calvary mid the mobs cruel yell
Oh to speak, dusty sandals what a story youd tell.
