Talaʽ al-Badru ʽAlayna is a traditional Islamic poem that was first sang by the Ansar (the inhabitants of Medina) for Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) upon his arrival at Medina after his Hijra or migration from Mecca. The migration marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar, also known as the Hijri calendar.
