The dance music from the early / mid '70s until the early '80s is, in my opinion, unmatched in terms of the sheer volume of fresh, innovative and absolutely superb tunes / arrangements /artists.

It came in all shapes and sizes but what it all had in common was infectious beats that were sure to keep the feet & bodies moving on the dance floor.

Many of these tunes and artists transitioned over to the radio Top 40 but so many others remained largely confined to the dance clubs / discos and to the dance charts. And, in many cases, unfairly so, deserving far better "mainstream" success than they ever enjoyed.

T-Connection was one such group. Supremely talented, but largely unknown except to those who lived and breathed dance music. Perhaps being from the Bahamas somehow played a role in that. Dunno.

However, in the dance music world, T-Connection was well known and this tune was their best known. More than that, it was legend. Many would argue that it is one of the best dance tunes of the era. And this extended mix was just awesome!!

I remember the first time I heard it as a kid. I had a friend whose older brother had gotten this extended single on vinyl when he had gone home for the summer and brought it back with him to Japan. And when he played it, it was unlike anything I had heard. It certainly wasn't like the dance / disco tunes that were all the rage on Top 40 radio.

And, man, the use of synthesizers took it to a whole other level. Honestly, I had never heard synthesizers used like that in any music at that time.

Always love listening to this tune and particularly enjoy these dancers doing their interpretation of the groove!
