Hi, we are Jocelyn & Ellen!

Since we started this fiddle-cello duo project in 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland, we’ve had the joy of arranging and performing together as well as meeting and collaborating with wonderful people along the way. We really enjoy bringing together our influences to create innovative arrangements, with driving rhythms, nuanced textures, and lively foot percussion and step dancing. We’re also excited to share with you some new songs, adding vocal harmonies to the mix!

During the pandemic, while in our home regions of West Coast BC (Canada) and Maryland (USA), we were collaborating remotely and planning our first album together.

Continuing this project across borders and finding new ways to play together while apart brought challenges, as well as important lessons, that influenced the formation of this album.

“All It Brings” will feature 10 tracks of traditional, contemporary and original tunes and songs, uniquely blending the musical traditions that have inspired us. Our influences range from Scottish and Irish traditional music, to French Canadian, Cape Breton, American old-time, and Scandinavian folk styles. We strive to bring a message of hope and positivity through our music – like a new day, and "all it brings.”

After 18 months apart, we’re delighted to now be reunited in Glasgow to make this album!

It is a huge and very expensive undertaking creating an album, and we cannot do this without your support. Expenses include recording, mixing, mastering, guest musicians, album artwork, licensing / royalties for other composers, manufacturing, and promotion.
