Shirley's rendering of another Bond theme, "Goldfinger" in 1965 reached #8 on the pop charts. She was the first one to have a big pop hit with a Bond theme, and was then followed by Tom Jones "Thunderball" in early 1966. She was asked to provide vocals for the 1979 Bond installment, "Moonraker" in two different versions, a down tempo number for the opening sequence and an uptempo disco version played over the end credits. Neither version charted, making this an obscure song perfect for me to play around with....Have you seen her version of Pink's "Get This Party Started"? Check it out....and she doesn't censor the 'kissing my azz" part...she coyly smiles and blithely gets away with it, such is the charm of Dame Shirley...
