Randy Castillo was the drummer on the original track, and it's amazing how simple, yet powerful his drums sounded. My absolute favorite part of his playing takes place in the second verse, where he introduces a sixteenth bass drum on the "e" of the beat. See if you can spot it.

One of the things that surprised me when playing it the first time was that the bass intro doesn't exactly start at the beginning of the measure - something you don't really notice until you've started playing along to the track. The sound of the ride and hi-hat cymbals are turned way down on the recording, so trying to mimic that is a challenge. Coming out of the interlude is also a bit tricky because you have to match the accelerando of the guitars perfectly. Zakk Wylde's guitar is so powerful that during his solo, Randy holds back on filling up the space with drum fills. The same goes for Ozzy. His voice is so epic you have to be careful to not get in the way of it.
