The hauntingly beautiful sentimental love song is the most unusual posthumous performance: The “ghost” of Muslim Magomaev (died in 2008) is singing with the orchestra from the future! There are 36 years time gap between the singer and the accompaniment. The modern technology allowed to retrieve the voice from Magomaev’s earlier performance and combine it with the live orchestra on stage. Magical illusion and effect of presence - Magomaev was able to sing his favourite ‘Melody" once again on his 70th birthday concert in 2012. The musicians (some of whom haven’t been born back in 1976), tried to do it most delicately, with love and respect to the Great Master.

Muslim Magomayev was often compared to Ives Montan and Frank Sinatra. His popularity in the USSR was overwhelming. He would give three concerts a day, filling huge arenas all across the Soviet Union, while his albums sold millions.
He was as proud of his native Azerbaijan as he was of Russia, and would say that Russia was his mother, Azerbaijan his father and that he belongs to both. Magomayev was mischievous, conscious of his own magnetism and always smart.
