Description
Aloha! Here’s an easy and fun hapa-haole hula dance I want to show you. This dance is called: “LITTLE BROWN GAL”.
Hapa-haole was a Hawaii-born music genre that found great popularity with residents and visitors from the early 1920s through the late '50s. The hapa haole period featured songs that were written in mixed English and Hawaiian language, presented mixed American and Hawaiian musical structure, and offered subject matter that was romantic, nostalgic and sometimes humorous. This era brought so much fun and was the most universally-recognized period of Hawaiian music.
The Hapa Haole hulas will take you back to the sights of hula maidens wearing grass skirts dancing to the sweet sounds of ukuleles and steel guitars.
I hope you enjoyed my hapa haole hula video of the “Little Brown Gal”. You can find the music to this particular dance online, just search it by title. I would suggest “Little Brown Gal” by the Maile Serenaders.
Keep dancing! Dancing keeps your heart happy and that’s good for your health. And best of all, Hula Dancing helps you to stay young and beautiful!
Aloha … and … Mahalo!
