A quite well known song for some time now, sheet music for it first appeared in 1927, with Lou Fishback, Carl Copeland, and Jack Williams listed as co-writers.. Later on the Western Writers Of America choose it as one of the top 100 Western Songs of all time.. I have great liking for all that's recorded this tune, but maybe a little extra for RW Hampton, as he's what I call the real deal.. I've seen and talked with him several times at the Cowboy Poetry get together in Elco Nevada, and it certainly doesn't take long to see the real Cowboy in him.. He's written & co-wrote quite a few story songs including the famed ''Rider On The Rim'' with Red Steagall.. What a great talent indeed, and all photo's are of RW with two showing his Wife Denise with him as well. Enjoy it Folks !!!
