Growing up I often allowed my own insecurities and anxieties negatively impact my daily life. There was a time when I was too anxious to get on a train by myself or do any thing independently without mapping out every minute. Over time I made small choices to try and change this. There were so many things I wanted to do and I didn’t want my self doubt to dictate what was possible for me, so every now and then I’d step out of my own familiar pattern. The fear of failing seems to be rooted in us all, but I’ve found sometimes the act of trying is success in itself - it’s somehow feels defiant to believe in yourself against the odds. This is what TRY is about. I wrote it with Jess & Jared in Nashville. (My favourite place on earth) Jess has been my biggest cheerleader from day one - and is much of the reason this entire new album exists. Whenever I set my own limitations - Jess challenges them with ‘but would it hurt to try babe’. We’re not in this alone - we can lean on each other to grow stronger. I really hope you love it and it inspires you to take on your biggest fears! You just never know what could happen.
