"I've been following glass remnant since a chance encounter with their music a few months ago. Something about the wiry frames of digital skull-heads dominating an album cover like - "no fear!" - compelled me to hit play on their self-released debut floating in the Internet ether. The mix of 90's-00's style breakbeats, sample dissection/inspection, vaporwave (ish, definitely ish), and a total overall feel of a good time was not lost on me. Fast forward to now, and my label Fish Prints is presenting to -all of you- the second installment in the glass remnant legacy. A self described 'virtual band' in the sense that all three members live in different parts of the world, you'd never guess this was the case listening to "Monochromium/Monotonium". Everything is so intimately recorded and mixed, right in your face or floating slightly below that surface, ideas flying like the After Dark toasters at 10x speed. Samples hang on like delayed hangovers and breakbeats toss and turn but never go an il-logical extreme. The second half of the album is a journey that must be experienced to be truly understood (loud in headphones or on speakers with the subwoofer extended). Prepare for some mighty low-frequency introspection.
