Description
"After this, what is left for us to write?", said Franz Schubert, after his most favourite Beethoven string quartet which he heard five days prior to his tragic, saddeningly early death, as his wish: Perhaps embellishing this sumptuous masterpiece would be to show the sun with a lantern. What Beethoven achieved with his late string quartets, was the ecumenical apeothesis of music. I want to humbly requote Schubert in response to his quote: After this, what really is left for us to write?
Brentano String Quartet's Albums on Beethoven are, as a youthful musician, probably one of my all-time favourite Beethoven recordings, second to Kleiber's recordings of the fifth and seventh symphonies, Schiff's recording of the late Beethoven sonatas being the third. The venerable individuals of the quartet adorned Beethoven's tragicomedic frenzy and musical splendour with the finesse it deserves. With any of my videos, I never aimed for financial income and I merely want to share the music I aspire for with a distinct, subtle interface to showcase the colorific flow of the music. All the copyrights are of the publishers of the album, the artists and the engineers (whose work I essentially adore):

Founded in 1992, the New York-based Brentano Quartet is known for its interpretations combining perfect technique and matchless musicality. Those qualities are even more obvious in this series of late Beethoven quartets with this first volume bringing together the Op. 127 and 131. This pure crystal of intelligence and brilliance will doubtless constitute a milestone.
