Antonio Aguilar Barraza (1919 –2007) was a Mexican singer, actor, songwriter, equestrian, film producer, and screenwriter. He was known for his variety of music styles such as rancheras, corridos, mariachi and tambora. This song tells the story of a lost love, and then embarking on a trip to a new land where hope is still alive, but also with the thought of returning home to find someone awaiting him.

Era conocido por su variedad de estilos musicales como rancheras, corridos, mariachi y tambora. Esta canción cuenta la historia de un amor perdido, y luego emprender un viaje a una nueva tierra donde la esperanza sigue viva, pero también con la idea de volver a casa para encontrarse con alguien que lo esté esperando.
